It’s hard to believe I haven’t updated this blog in nearly two years. Obviously a lot has happened since then, so I’ll skip to the highlights.
I suppose the biggest piece of news is that I’ve recently relocated to the UK to study Multimedia Journalism in a Masters program at the University of Westminster in London. I’m thrilled to be here and can’t wait to sink my teeth into some projects. I’m going to start using this space again to keep everyone updated about my adventures in London.
Of course, starting this chapter means that another chapter has closed. In June of this year I graduated from MacEwan University with my degree in Communication Studies. My time at MacEwan changed my life, opened my eyes, and has pushed me onto a path where I’m really following my dreams. I can honestly say that the faculty, as well as my fellow students, truly inspired me to be BETTER.
Education aside, I’ve been delving deep into the world of professional wrestling – which I never thought would be an area I’d explore. It started back in January when I started writing an article about wrestling fans, and, well, I now find myself among their numbers. I’ve taken to wrestling like I take to everything else: with an obsessive, critical eye. Some might look down on wrestling but the truth is, I’ve found a new form of storytelling when I thought I’d exhausted every other option.
(That being said, you can now find my designs for a couple of pro wrestlers of the New Japan, Ring of Honor, and other “indie” ranks on ProWrestlingTees.com!)
I’ve also been working with StartupMenu.co for a few months, and I’m super happy to be a part of Ismail’s team. I’ve been very lucky to have such an awesome guy as my boss, and it’s actually been really fulfilling to be an account manager with SM. Helping small business get on their feet, helping to get their name out, it’s about as good as you can get with social media management!
I think that’ll be it for now. I’m really excited to get going here in London and I’ll tell you what it’s like as soon as I find out!
